Singapore Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon shares bench with CJI Chandrachud in SC

Chief Justice of Singapore Sundaresh Menon sat on the Supreme Court of India bench headed by CJI D Y Chandrachud on Friday.

Justice Menon, who has served as Singapore's fourth chief justice since 2012, will be in India as the chief guest at a function to mark the 73rd founding anniversary of the Supreme Court on Saturday.

The Chief Justice of Singapore will deliver a lecture on 'The Role of the Judiciary in a Changing World' at the event, which will feature a welcome address by Justice SK Kaul as well as an address by the Chief Justice of India.

The Supreme Court of India came into existence on 28 January 1950, two days after India became a republic.
